ArbiterSports/Pay

CIF San Diego uses ArbiterSports for official assignments to High School games and is coordinated directly with our SDFHOA Assigner. In order to receive games from the Assigner, all members must have an account entered into ArbiterSports Software with a valid email. A member must go to arbitersports.com, sign up with your email, and password to gain access to this system. Once you are signed up, ensure the Assigner has your correct email; he will upload your email into ArbiterSports from his end. If successful, you will now be connected and eligible for Field Hockey game assignments once you have met all Association certification requirements. Arbiter Pay is part of ArbiterSports Software. Once you are logged into ArbiterSports successfully, you must then set up your Arbiter Pay to your bank account. Basic tutorials are listed below for your convenience.

2023 Assignment Fees:
Prior to receiving any assignments a minimum $50 deposit is required to the Assigner. At the end of the season, calculate your total game fees by adding all games that charge a fee, subtract your deposit and pay the remaining amount to the Assigner.
Each Varsity Game - $3.00 fee
Each Jr Varsity Game - $3.00 fee
Each Playoff Game - $3.00 fee
Scrimmage Game - no fee
Cancellation of Game - no fee
All tournament games - no fee
2023 CIF Field Hockey Official regular season game fees:
Varsity: $80 per official (working alone add 50% game fee)
Below Varsity: $59 per official (working alone add 50% game fee)
Travel Pay: You may qualify for travel compensation based on round-trip mileage. Officials must decide which home or work zip code they will be using for the season and it will be entered into ArbiterSports by the Assigner. A flat fee will be used for round-trip travel based on the following scale:
51 ‐ 75 miles = $13.00
76 ‐ 125 miles = $19.00
126 ‐175 miles = $31.00
176 ‐ 250 miles = $43.00
251 ‐ 350 miles = $55.00
Tournament Varsity/JV: game fees are computed based on total minutes of the game which are often shorter than regular games. Pay computation is based on the level of play in minutes and that amount will be reflected in your game assignment.
Scrimmage: there is no pay for scrimmage game assignments but you will be compensated for travel based on the flat fee criteria listed above.
2023 Arbiter Sport Pay Process
1. SDFHOA Assigner will input games assigned to an official into Arbiter with game fee and travel fee (if applicable) for each game.
2. Officials should accept those games as soon as possible.
3. After working your games allow 2 weeks for payment from schools. Some schools pay the same day, some pay each week, and some have bi-monthly schedules.
4. Should payment not go through in 2 weeks you should follow-up by emailing the home school Field Hockey Coach and Athletic Director inquiring about payment. Include:
a. Arbiter game #
b. Date and time
c. Home team and opponent
d. Name of Officials who worked the game (include your partner to streamline this process)
e. Amount to be paid
5. Allow 3 working days for a response
6. Once a response is given by the school you should continue to track this game until payment is received based on their guidance.
7. After 3 working days with no response, resend the email to the Head Coach and Athletic Director and follow it up with a phone call/message to the Athletic Director.
8. Once you have gone through this process without payment contact a SDFHOA Board Member for assistance. Our goal is to ensure you receive correct payment for games.
9. At the end of the fiscal year, Arbiter Software will have a prepared 1099 tax document in your name that you will need to be downloaded to file with your taxes.
